KIKO Estate has been a labor of true love, for the best part of the last 3 years, achieved through close collaboration between the owners, the internationally awarded architects K-Studio and the reputed landscape architect Helli Pangalou.
K-Studio created a harmonious architectural experience, evident in the KIKO project, where the use of indigenous materials such as stone and wood with cement were applied in such a way as to create a sense of continuity between the island’s vernacular architecture and contemporary lifestyle.
The landscape architect Helli Pangalou has created a sensory experience with her curated design and mix of aromatic herbs, century old olive trees and indigenous shrubbery that seamlessly evolves the property in the harmony of the landscape. The vegetable patches and fruit trees compliment the summer feeling of an island home, highlighting the dynamics and the plurality of the landscape, optimizing the microclimatic conditions and enhancing biodiversity.
The Estate is located by the sea in the western part of Paros island, right across from Antiparos. The villas are surrounded by an existing olive grove, to the east, while a colonnade of tall Mediterranean cypresses, preserved from the original landscape, create a dramatic entrance into the Estate.
The owners and their collaborators’ vision is based on the enrichment of the existing elements and the formation of a productive sustainable environment. The new plants stretch from the boundaries of the olive grove, between the two Villas, with olive and carob trees. As we approach the sea, tamarisks are integrated into the existing vegetation.
